U.S. HEALTHCARE ANNOUNCES RECORD MEMBERSHIP GROWTH BLUE BELL, Pa., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Healthcare, Inc.
(NASDAQ: USHC), one of the nation's leading providers of managed health care services, today reported record enrollment growth during the first quarter of 1992.
Membership in the company's Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) grew to approximately 1,340,000 members, an increase of 100,000 from Dec. 31, 1991. This is the largest increase in membership in any quarter in the history of the company. It surpassed the first quarter of 1991 growth of 70,000 by more than 40 percent. The New York and Southeastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia area) contributed the largest shares of the growth. The company said it attributes the record membership growth to its new products and increasing acceptance of true managed health care as providing access to high quality, affordable care. U.S. Healthcare provides managed health care services through its HMOs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maryland.
