U.S. DISTRICT COURT DISMISSES SHAREHOLDER LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST nVIEW CORPORATION AND TWO CORPORATE OFFICERS

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Earlier today, nVIEW Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: NVUE) announced that an amended complaint against the company and two of its officers has been dismissed by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Newport News Division, in an opinion filed Aug. 13, 1993. In dismissing the amended complaint, the court ruled that the amended complaint failed to plead facts in support of the securities fraud claim with particularity as required by Rule 9(b) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The company's press release released earlier today incorrectly stated that the court had also based the dismissal on the plaintiff's failure to state a claim upon which relief may be granted under Rule 12(b)(6). Since the court dismissed the amended complaint under Rule 9(b), the court did not need to, and did not, rule on the company's motion to dismiss under 12(b)(6).
