U.S. CONSULTING FIRM ANNOUNCES PACT WITH CHINA'S TECHNICAL CENTER

BEIJING, China, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- China Defense Science and Technology Information Center and Forecast International/DMS today announced a joint venture for the promotion of the peaceful use of technology worldwide.
CDSTIC, which is the chief technical agency of the Chinese Government, has 60 technical centers reporting to it throughout the People's Republic of China. Previously, its mission was oriented toward supporting the defense posture of the People's Republic; however, with the dissolution of the Soviet Union and reduced threats elsewhere, that mission has now shifted to the promotion of technological joint ventures in order to enhance the development of China and to bring in needed capital from other nations.
Forecast International/DMS, located in Newtown, Conn., is a well known consulting firm, think tank, and research publisher. Its specialties include civil and military aviation, space, power systems, defense systems, automotive and transportation systems, and developing technologies.
Under the new agreement, Forecast International/DMS will work closely with CDSTIC to organize and promote joint venture seminars and technical expositions in China. Because of its experience and continuing analysis of world defense and technical markets, this U.S. firm has been selected to serve as the intermediary in bringing about effective link-ups between Chinese firms and those in other nations. Through cooperation with CDSTIC, it will also be able to promote and sell technical translation services in both the Chinese and English languages worldwide. CDSTIC, in turn, will market the products and services of Forecast International/DMS throughout the PRC and other Chinese speaking countries.
In announcing the new venture, Edward Nebinger, president of Forecast International/DMS, stated, "We see this as a major step in helping open China to firms wishing to find new and rapidly developing markets for their products and technologies. Many companies wishing to do business in China find it difficult making the right contacts and getting their message across. CDSTIC, with its large staff of expert engineers, analysts, and linguists, is uniquely qualified to serve as a direct link between the interested parties, and can provide whatever technical and linguistic support is required to close the deals."
Interested parties can contact Forecast International/DMS in Newtown, Conn., at 203-426-0800, or fax, 203-426-1964.
