U.S. BIOSCIENCE NAMES AYER-PTASZEK VICE PRESIDENT - MARKETING

 WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- U.S. Bioscience, Inc. (AMEX: UBS) today announced the appointment of Alison E. Ayers- Ptaszek as vice president, marketing, for the company. She reports to Russell C. McLauchlan, president and chief operating officer.
 Ayers-Ptaszek joins U.S. Bioscience from Bristol-Myers Squibb where she was senior director, strategic product planning. She had served previously in domestic and international management and marketing posts with American Cyanamic's Lederle Laboratories division.
 Commenting on Ms. Ayer-Ptaszek's appointment, Mr. McLauchlan noted, "Alison's in-depth experience in the worldwide markets for anti-cancer agents and anti-infectives is particular relevant to U.S. Bioscience because of our focus in these areas."
 Based in West Conshohocken, Pa., U.S. Bioscience is a pharmaceutical company specializing in the development and commercialization of products to increase the survival and quality of life for patients with cancer and allied diseases. The company's portfolio includes a broad spectrum of cancer drugs, with four products in the late stages of development. One compound, altretamine, is marketed under the name Hexalen(R) in the United States.
