U.S. AND CANADIAN CARMAKERS' ASSEMBLY REACHES 6 MILLION MARK

 DETROIT, Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- U.S. and Canadian carmakers assembled their 6 millionth vehicle Tuesday, Nov. 17, 12 days ahead of 1991, according to the trade paper Automotive News.
 This week's estimated U.S. and Canada car production is 132,617, down 14.9 percent from last week and 2.6 percent from the year-ago week.
 Year-to-date U.S. and Canada car production is 6,103,258, up 3.2 percent from the same period in 1991.
 U.S. and Canada truck production is estimated at 113,761 this week, down 1.2 percent from last week and up 13.9 percent from the year-ago week.
 Year-to-date U.S. and Canada truck production is 4,610,729, up 17.8 percent from the same period one year ago.
 U.S. car and truck production for this week is shared as follows: General Motors, 34.7 percent; Ford Motor Co., 30.4 percent; Chrysler Corp., 13.4 percent; Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., 4.4 percent; Nissan Motor Manufacturing Inc., 4.1 percent; New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., 3.6 percent; AutoAlliance International Inc., 2.8 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 2.5 percent; Diamond-Star Motors, 1.5 percent; Misc., 0.9 percent; Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 0.8 percent; Navistar, 0.8 percent; and AM General, 0.1 percent.
