 U.S. AND CANADA CAR AND TRUCK OUTPUT CUT BY HOLIDAY, SAYS AUTO NEWS
 DETROIT, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. and Canada automakers' estimated output this week dropped 13.7 percent from the prior week due to the four-day holiday work week, according to the trade paper Automotive News.
 This week's estimated U.S. and Canada car production is 126,171, down 13.7 percent from last week and 3.3 percent from the year-ago week.
 So far this year, U.S. and Canada car production is 1,938,328, up 1.2 percent from the same period in 1991.
 U.S. and Canada truck production is scheduled at 91,200, down 13.5 percent from last week and up 14.5 percent over the year-ago week.
 Year to date, U.S. and Canada truck production is 1,492,607, up 33.5 percent from the same period one year ago.
 U.S. estimated car production for this week is shared as follows: General Motors, 45.9 percent; Ford Motor Co., 24.0 percent; Chrysler Corp., 8.5 percent; Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., 7.8 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 4.4 percent; New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., 2.8 percent; Diamond-Star Motors, 2.5 percent; Nissan Motor Manufacturing Inc., 2.0 percent; Mazda Motor Manufacturing (USA), 1.2 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 0.9 percent.
