 U.S. AND CANADA AUTOMAKERS HIT 3 MILLION MARK 13 DAYS AHEAD OF 1991
 DETROIT, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. and Canada automakers assembled their 3 millionth vehicle Monday, April 6, 13 days ahead of 1991, according to the trade paper Automotive News.
 This week's estimated U.S. and Canada car production is 143,324, up 9.5 percent from last week and 24.4 percent from the year-ago week.
 So far this year, U.S. and Canada car production is 1,809,250, up 1.5 percent from the same period in 1991.
 U.S. and Canada truck production is scheduled at 103,503, down 3.5 percent from last week and up 28.9 percent over the year-ago week.
 Year to date, U.S. and Canada truck production is 1,399,483, up 34.8 percent from the same period one year ago.
 U.S. estimated car production for this week is shared as follows: General Motors, 45.4 percent; Ford Motor Co., 23.7 percent; Chrysler Corp., 8.6 percent; Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., 8.4 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 3.5 percent; New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., 3.2 percent; Diamond-Star Motors, 2.8 percent; Nissan Motor Manufacturing Inc., 2.3 percent; Mazda Motor Manufacturing (USA), 1.1 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.0 percent.
