U.S. ALCOHOL TESTING OF AMERICA INC. RECEIVES APPROVAL
ON NEW HIGH TECH ALCOHOL-BREATH SIMULATOR
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Alcohol Testing of America Inc. (USAT) (AMEX: AAA) has just received approval from the Department of Transportation (DOT) for its Alco-Simulator 2000, the nation's first digitally controlled, continuous-vapor phase alcohol- breath simulator.
The Alco-Simulator 2000's state-of-the-art technology allows the user to easily and accurately calibrate evidential blood alcohol breath testing equipment. In addition to its new "motorless" continuous-vapor phase airation method and digital thermometer readout, the simulator allows the user to change solutions without the risk of glass breakage or damage to the simulator.
Alco-Simulator 2000, which is now in production, received recent approval from the Department of Transportation which requires strict specifications under the "Standards For Calibrating Units For Breath Alcohol Testers" set forth by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Approval from the Department of Transportation is required in order for the device to be used to calibrate instruments that are used as evidence in the court of law across the country.
"We believe this state-of-the-art technology will be a valuable asset to law enforcement officials across the country," said Jim Witham, USAT chairman.
In addition to the Alco-Simulator 2000, USAT manufactures screening and other evidential breath testing equipment for use by law enforcement officials, correctional facilities, industries and in treatment centers and schools. In January 1992, the company signed a licensing agreement with the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) that grants USAT the exclusive right to practice patent-pending technology for the detection of drugs of abuse.
