 U.S. & CANADA AUTO PRODUCTION CONTINUES ABOVE YEAR-AGO LEVELS
 DETROIT, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Automakers in the United States and Canada scheduled to build 133,874 units this week, 0.4 percent above the previous week and 9.7 percent above the year-ago week. Auto assembly in the U.S. and Canada remains 3.4 percent above 1991 levels, according to the trade paper Automotive News.
 U.S. and Canada truck production is scheduled at 100,135, down 2.5 percent from the prior week but up 15.7 percent from the year-ago week.
 Year to date, U.S. and Canada truck production is 3,231,305, up 19.0 percent from the same period one year ago.
 U.S. estimated car and truck production this week is shared as follows: General Motors, 38.0 percent; Ford Motor Co., 27.3 percent; Chrysler Corp., 16.0 percent; Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., 4.8 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 2.5 percent; AutoAlliance Inc., 2.9 percent; Nissan Motor Manufacturing Inc., 3.1 percent; Diamond-Star Motors, 1.1 percent; Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.3 percent; New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., 1.0 percent; Miscellaneous, 1.0 percent; Navistar, 0.8 percent; and AM General, 0.2 percent.
