 U.S POSTAL SERVICE ANNOUNCES PERFORMANCE,
 CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SCORES
DENVER, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Released today by the U.S. Postal Service, independent testing from Price Waterhouse finds that First- Class Mail in the Denver Division was delivered overnight 84 percent on-time September through December.
"This is the same percentage as the previous three month period," said Denver Field Division General Manager/Postmaster Frank Beebe. Nationwide, overnight service performance was 83 percent, two points higher when compared with the same period in 1990.
Additionally, the Customer Satisfaction Index, independently conducted by Opinion Research Corp., found 85 percent of residential households polled rated their overall experience with the Postal Service in this area Excellent, Very Good, and Good, added Beebe. Results are based on questionnaires mailed in late September. "This is 2 percentage points lower than the previous three month period, said Beebe. "We are taking a close look to see what we can do to turn this around."
"The Denver Division is not satisfied with the scores. We want to improve and strengthen service. These two nationwide measurement systems provide us with the feedback necessary to make improvements in service to our customers, and we will make those changes," said Beebe.
