U.K. 'RAVE' SCENE EXPLODES IN L.A.
U.K. 'RAVE' SCENE EXPLODES IN L.A. LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The underground club movement
of England has taken solid hold of the Southland's youth. These all-night warehouse parties are called "raves," and provide a pulsating musical backdrop from England called "techno-rave." Techno-rave music, a Euro club phenomenon, is fast sweeping the United States and is hitting hardest in the Los Angeles area.
Messiah, one of the top techno-rave bands of England, will be making their debut American appearance at a rave party on Saturday, Feb. 22. Messiah has been playing before crowds of more than 20,000 at raves in England. The band will be performing their single, "There Is No Law," a U.K. hit and a top request at MARS-FM 103.1, one of the biggest radio supporters of techno-rave music. The underground rave scene was recently reported in the Los Angeles Times (Jan. 5, 1992) as well as in a cover story in the music industry trade Billboard (Oct. 19, 1991). This event will be a true underground party as recently portrayed on an episode of the TV show "Beverly Hills 90210." All media is invited to experience the sights and sounds of today's youth. The rave scene, one that reminds many of the underground movement of the sixties, is surely poised to spread all over the country in the months ahead. -0- 2/11/92 /EDITOR'S NOTE: Press coverage is invited for this event. The working press will receive its own VIP hotline number to call on the day of the event, and will be directed right to the location of the rave. Show time will be midnight./ /CONTACT: Terrence Brown of Terrence Mathew Brown and Associates, 310-281-3015/ CO: ST: California IN: ENT SU:
