U. S. LONG DISTANCE SIGNS AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE LONG DISTANCE SERVICES FOR GLOBAL TEL LINK

 SAN ANTONIO, Texas, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- U. S. Long Distance Corp. (NASDAQ: USLD) today announced that it has entered into a three year agreement with Global Tel Link (Global), to provide long distance services to Global's network of prison pay telephones in the state of Louisiana. This agreement was entered into in connection with Global Tel Link's recent contract to provide inmate telephones to the Department of Corrections for the State of Louisiana. It is expected to increase USLD's revenues in excess of $3.5 million per year.
 Parris H. Holmes Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of USLD, stated, "Global Tel Link has been a client of our billing subsidiary for the last two years, and we are excited about the opportunity to expand our services to this company. This agreement also represents an important step for USLD in its goal to increase its share in the direct- dial long distance market and to become a major provider of long distance services in selected regions of the country."
 Commenting on the agreement, Dan Wiley, chief executive officer of Global, said, "We are excited about establishing this new relationship with U. S. Long Distance and we look forward to expanding our business with the USLD team. Global selected U. S.
