U GOTTA SEE THIS FUN IN THE LAND OF NODDY.
He's the other little wooden boy capturing the hearts and imaginations of children everywhere.
But unlike the imperfect Pinocchio, Noddy -- based on the popular children's book series by Enid Blyton and the star of his own PBS Kids show -- doesn't grow a shnoz every time he lies, or aspire to become a real boy. He's got too much of a good thing going in Toy Town, where the bobble-headed taxi driver with the blue jingle-bell cap is loved by teddy bears, dolls and weeble-wobbles alike.
Who can blame them?
As we see in each of the five 10-minute episodes on the ``Noddy and Friends'' (FUNimation Entertainment; $14.99) DVD, Noddy is a model citizen. A know-it-all. The go-to toy, really.
He suggests new ways for the mechanically inclined Mr. Sparks to fix the town clock and choreographs ``The Balancing Act'' between elephant Mr. Jumbo and a juggling Clockwork Mouse.
He stays low-key about successfully solving the town's problems, of course, confiding only in his best friend, a gnome called Big-Ears, who's ever-congratulatory. It's a bit much but, hey, this is for preschoolers after all.
