Tyson Furyburst into song as he refused to blame the judges for missing out on becoming a two-time world champion.
The Brit was dropped twice by Deontay Wilder on Saturday night but rose on both occasions - and appeared to have done enough.
But one judge inexplicably awarded the champion the fight by four rounds while another gave Fury the nod by two.
The third, Englishman Phil Edwards, scored the contest 113-113 to ensure the belt stays in America.
Fury, who was fighting for the third time in three years, said: "It is what it is, I'm not going to cry over spilt milk."
The 30-year-old then burst into an impromptu rendition of Don McClean's American Pie.

Fury was down - looked out - in the final session.
But he rose - as he did to beat his drink and drug fuelled depression over the last 12 months - and actually ended the round on top.
He added: "I don't now how I fit up but I had to get up.
"I couldn't stay down, I had to show that you can get up and nothing is impossible."
