Tynedale wounded ready to return.

TYNEDALE'S injury worries are subsiding at just the right time of the season as they prepare for Saturday's home date with Stourbridge.

The National One encounter sees Tynedale hoping to welcome back Hamish Smales (Achilles), Charlie Ingall (shoulder) and Harry Peck (knee), as the eighth-placed side aim to leapfrog a Stourbridge outfit just one spot higher in the league table.

Andrew and Jamie Murray will also boost the home effort as they return to action, with the brothers unable to feature in the club's away games due to farming commitments during the lambing season.

Missing through injury will be Newcastle University captain Sam Shires and prop Johnny Williams, although Newcastle Falcons' Darren Fearn will come in to bolster the loose-head side of the scrum in Williams' continued absence.

Lock Richard Boyle is on England Students duty in France, while left-wing Rikki Sheriffe will miss out after being withdrawn from the squad ahead of a possible debut for Newcastle Falcons at Saracens on Sunday.

Chairman of rugby John Shotton said: "We are starting to get some numbers back. It has given Tom Borthwick some selectorial problems, especially behind the scrum.

"Rather than having eight or nine players absent we are now only down to four or five."

Blaydon face an 820-mile round trip on Saturday for their National One trip to Launceston having defeated fellow Cornish side Redruth 35-34 at Crow Trees last weekend.

That victory ended a run of nine consecutive league losses, and pushes them six points and two places above the three relegation spots.

In National Two North Westoe are at home to Huddersfield, while in North One East, secondplaced Percy Park host Driffield.
