Ty Hafan's Greg in cycle challenge call.

One of Ty Hafan's children and his family are urging people to get on their bikes to help raise vital funds for the children's hospice. Greg Fears, who recently took part in the Challenge Anneka programme to help record the album Somewhere Over The Rainbow, is now taking part in a challenge of his own.

The 15-year-old, from Church Village near Pontypridd, will be joined by his family for the Ty Hafan Taff Trail Cycle Challenge on Sunday, September 2.

Money raised from the event will go towards the pounds 2.5m annual running costs for the hospice, which is based in Sully near Barry.

Greg's father Paul said: "My other son Tom is a keen cyclist, and really wanted to get involved with the Taff Trail Challenge to help raise money for the hospice." For more information and to register, contact Alan Drury on 029 2067 2060, e-mail alan@tyhafan.org or visit www.tyhafan.org
