Two years for killing car thief.

TWO brothers who killed a thief after he broke into a family car have each been jailed for two years.

Osman Jabber, 23, and Saqib Jabber, 20, had previously been found guilty of the manslaughter of 34-year-old Tariq Rashid.

Three other family members, Saiqa Ajaib, 27, Intkhab Alam, 36, and Abdul Jabba, 52, were sent to prison for nine months.

They, along with the Jabbers, had previously been convicted of perverting the course of justice. Jabba was ordered to pay pounds 10,000 costs.

Sentencing them at Birmingham Crown Court, Judge John Saunders QC said the circumstances surrounding the death remained uncertain.

He said Mr Rashid, from Saltley, who was a drug addict, broke into a BMW parked near to an address in Alum Rock Road, in August 2004. The court heard the family spotted Mr Rashid on CCTV and that the Jabber brothers, along with others, went down and gave the victim a beating.
