Two suspected burglars arrested in Paphos.

Two men from Georgia aged 29 and 34 were arrested on Monday night following a chase after allegedly robbing a house in Kato Paphos.

Police said they were informed on Monday evening by the owner of the house who is currently abroad, that he was alerted by his home alarm connected to his phone and through which he could see on camera two men robbing his residence.

When police cars arrived at the scene, the two men jumped over the fence of the house and started running towards fields. Police cars began chasing them, and were able to catch them in the Tombs of the Kings area.

The 29-year-old, police said, had illegally entered the government-controlled areas through the north, while the 34-year-old's visa expired on October 23.

Police believe that the two are members of an organised ring, but the suspects deny any involvement in other similar cases.
