Two professional bodies collaborate. (Informalia).

The Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) of the United Kingdom is the UK-based professional body. The Hong Kong Food Science & Technology Association (HKFSTA) is the Hong Kong professional body. Both recognise their international responsibilities in food science and technology and the important role of the International Union of Food Science & Technology (1UFoST).

Without in any way detracting from the role of IUFoST, or from direct relationships that each of the Institutes has with other food science and technology bodies, the two Institutes have agreed that there would be substantial merit in direct collaboration between them in matters of common interest and concern, on an equal and reciprocal basis.

Accordingly, they announce that they formally recognise each other as Cooperating Societies and each appoints the other to act as Liaison.
