Two killed after falling into RAK sewage pit.

The duo suffocated to death after falling into a 3.4metre-deep sewage pit in Ras Al Khaimah.

Two Asian residents suffocated to death after falling into a 3.4-metre-deep sewage pit in Ras Al Khaimah city on Wednesday morning.

Col Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Bagham, Acting Director-General of the Central Operations, RAK Police, said after being alerted of the accident, police and rescue teams were rushed to the site, which pulled the duo out. Paramedics tried to revive them with a ventilator, but failed.

The bodies have been shifted to a city morgue. "Investigations are underway to identify the cause of the duo's fall and subsequent death," a police officer said.
