Two insurgents killed, three ISAF soldiers hurt in clash.
An Afghan spokesman for the NATO forces in southeastern region, Sabawoon Hutak,told Pajhwok Afghan News the foreign forces were conducting a foot patrol in Chapa Dara district when came under attack.
Three ISAF service-members were wounded in the assault. Two armed Taliban were killed and four others detained as the troops returned fire,Hutak said. He added an arms depot belonging to the Taliban was also destroyed in the area.
A spokesman for the Salafi militants,identifying himself as Qari Daawat,claimed responsibility for the attack,saying eight foreign soldiers were perished in the clash.
He admitted that they lost one of their fighters and injuries to another. "One of our fighters is missing after the clash," Daawat said. Meanwhile,Taliban said they shot dead a man working with NATO forces in Ayub Khel area of Khost City in southeastern Khost province.
Salahuddin Ayubi,a spokesman for the local Taliban, said the man was an interpreter with the forces. Also on Wednesday, an intelligence official in the province said their operatives seized and defused some mines. In Logar province,a road-side bomb hit a tank of foreign forces in Charkh district, destroying it partially.
No one has been hurt in the explosion,district administrative head,Ghulam Farooq said. A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid,claimed that five soldiers have been killed in the blast.
In southern Afghanistan,a policeman was killed in a clash with insurgents on Wednesday.
One Talib was killed in northern Kunduz province last night. ISAF in Kunduz said the militant was killed in Char Dara district when they launched an attack on a convoy of the troops. Mujahid said their fighters destroyed a tank of foreign forces in the attack,killing two soldiers.
On Tuesday, a bomb blast took place in Spin Zar Park, near the provincial council of Kunduz city, but caused no casualties, police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Razaq Yaqubi,said. However,Mujahid said the blast destroyed a police vehicle,killing all aboard.
In the 12th district of Kandahar City,a bomb blast killed a police man last night. Deputy police chief,Fazal Ahmad Sherzad,said the explosives were packed in a bicycle near a bridge in the city. As the police arrived close to the bicycle, it suddenly exploded,killing one cop.
Taliban spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed responsibility for the blast,saying four policemen were killed and two others injured in the bomb attack.
In Takhar,four shells of a mortar were seized and defused in Omarkhel area of Bange district, the interior ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement added a remote controlled mine was seized and defused in Shahi Khel area of Aibak city in Samangan province.
