Two biggest hit songs are old and foreign.

JUST A THOUGHT: Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like. - Lao Tzu

'GOD GAVE ME YOU': Two of the hottest songs on everyone's lips these days aren't homegrown. They aren't new, either, as both are revivals from previous eras.

First off is "God Gave Me You," theme song of popular "Kalyeserye" featuring AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza).

"God Gave Me You," a country song by Bryan White was released on Aug. 24, 1999 as a cut from the album "How Lucky I Am."

Its lyrics were written by Jamie Houston, Dean James Hicks and Andy Goldmark, produced by Derek George, Dann Huff and Bryan himself.

Bryan's single emerged as a big hit in the Philippines in 2012, only to resurface as an even more massive hit 16 years following its release, thanks to AlDub.

Nyoy Volante and Sabrina recorded their own versions of the song in 2012. Not to be left behind is Alden Richards, who included the song in his 2015 album "Wish I May."

'ON THE WINGS OF LOVE': The song was originally sung by Jeffrey Osborne, who also wrote it as a cut for his self-titled 1982 album.

However, it soared to the top of the local charts when Regine Velasquez recorded her own version and made it sound like her own.

With music by Peter Schless, Osborne's "On The Wings Of Love" ranked 29th on the Billboard Hot 100 the year it was released.

Thirty-three years after its launch, "On The Wings Of Love" (OTWOL) is back in the national consciousness not only as a hit song but also as the title of a widely followed ABS-CBN teleserye.

"OTWOL" stars breakout tandem JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre), believed to be the evening counterpart of phenomenal love team AlDub, which rules during daytime.

"OTWOL" tackles love and relationship among Filipinos while trying to legalize their stay in the US.

For the TV series, Kyla has recorded a wonderful cover version of the song, now a big hit all over again.

Known for his non-stop chatter infused with wit and humor, Michael Angelo doesn't rule out the possibility of completing his Theology studies and becoming a full-fledged priest. Meanwhile, the pint-sized comedian wants to humor us with his witticisms and quick jokes on his

TV show that gives advice, information and entertainment in one neat package.

That's In-tertainment, he calls it.

JOB OFFER: At my age, only a few things surprise me. Such as this job offer from an unknown source in my email.

The letter of invite says the company is willing to pay me $300 per assignment, to come in the form of a cashier's check.

The job entails an evaluation process after visiting a number of supermarkets, all of which are located... in the United States. (nescuar@yahoo.com)
