Two arrested in ATM cards device swoop.
Byline: PAT FLANAGAN
GARDAI arrested two men yesterday over an ATM skimming device.
The pair were detained in Blanchardstown, north Dublin, after the device was used at a bank in Kildare town on Thursday.
Gardai had been working with a lender in a bid to intercept criminals, thought to be part of an Eastern European racket.
The arrests are seen as a significant development in this case that involved eight bank branches in Dublin, Kildare and Meath.
Skimming devices and credit cards were seized at the scene of the arrests of the pair in their 30s.
The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau said: "Gardai are working with financial institutions to prevent fraud."
