Two More IRS Officials Placed On Administrative Leave.

Two more staffers at the Internal Revenue Service have been placed on administrative leave for inappropriately accepting free food and "other items" at a health care conference in 2010, NBC News (http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/05/18779787-irs-places-two-top-staffers-on-administrative-leave?lite) reported Wednesday.

The two senior officials, who were in charge of implementing the Affordable Care Act, were placed on leave as the agency's new Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel has promised to clean house and restore the IRS' credibility.

The move is another blow to the already-embattled agency which is seeking to regain its credibility after inappropriately targeting conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status. Adding to the organization's woes, a new report showed the agency has spent an excessive amount on conferences in the past year. The House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on this report Thursday.

Under Werfel, Lois Lerner, a top official in the division overseeing non-profits, was placed on paid leave last month.
