Twelfth hole in one for Andy.

RIVALS were green with envy after a golfer hit his 12th hole in one.

The Guinness Book of Records is expecting a call from Consett Golf Club after Andy Hutton achieved the admirable feat.

How Andy, who hails from one of Consett Golf Club's best-known golf families, made it on to the course for their Gents' Sponsored Open, the day after his 40th birthday party at the golf club, is a feat in itself.

But he then staggered witnesses when he went out and landed the 12th hole in one of his life.

It has prompted the club secretary and treasurer, Vince Kelly, to open discussions with the Guinness Book of Records.

Andy beats the club's record scorer Dick Johnson, from Northumberland Golf Club, who accumulated 10 holes in one at the age of 58.

Treasurer Mr Kelly said: "That gives the club something to tell the Guinness Book of Records people. We'll ask them to look into it and see what they say."

There are three Huttons with single-figure handicaps at Consett. Andy's father, Matty, is a past captain and his brother, Ian, an ex-club champion.
