Tweed hat mugger attacks teenager.
The thief snatched the victim's wallet and punched him in the face before running off.
The early morning attack happened in Hanover Street in Edinburgh city centre.
Police say the mugger was wearing a deerstalker hat, blue flared jeans and a black cagoule.
He pounced on the 19-year-old victim as he walked along the street after getting off a bus.
The teenager was looking through his wallet for his bus pass for the next part of his journey when the thief struck.
He tried to grab the wallet and, after a struggle, he landed a punch on the victim's nose.
Police are looking for witnesses to the mugging which happened at 8.10am on Tuesday.
A police spokeswoman said: "The suspect was wearing a fairly distinctive deerstalker hat.
"And we are appealing for anyone who was in the Hanover Street and Rose Street area and may have seen him.
"The area would have been very busy with people heading to work."
