Turning over a leaf.

It finally looks like spring outside my window. And with a new season comes new responsibilities and expectations. I am so excited to be able to serve ICEA as the International Journal of Childbirth Education editor. Having been a member of ICEA for a very long time, I know what an honor it is to be here and what big shoes the previous amazing editors have left me to fill.

You will see that we have some new things for the Journal, as well as some old favorites. In this issue you will see what tips veteran labor and delivery nurse and childbirth advocate, Kristen Olberz, has to offer your students. Heather Jeffcoat shares with us how to alleviate discomfort from carpal tunnel in pregnancy. Elizabeth Merrell Gross gives us a look at how she has changed her thinking on the one-day childbirth class and how that works for her. In a "How Would You Teach" segment, Angela Garvin talks about teaching third stage of labor. Ashley Benz reminds us to know our audience when teaching about breastfeeding. Linda Park shares with us the concept of habitat as it relates to parenting. Please be sure to check out these great articles as well as find out how you can participate.

You will notice that there are many ways in which we invite you to participate in IJCE as well as with ICEA. Be sure to find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for breaking news and announcements. You will also have a chance to flex your creative muscle in our birth poetry contest. And, as always, we welcome your submissions of articles to the IJCE.

I would like to thank Stacie Walker, Michele Peterson and David Feild for helping me navigate my new role. Without their support, confidence and guidance, this process would have been much more difficult. I look forward to sharing the seasons of this year with you.
