Turkmenistan: Poultry Sector Expanding.

March 15 2010 -- The government of Turkmenistan has announced the ongoing expansion of the country's poultry sector with the establishment of a number of poultry farms.

The government said: "The establishment of an extended production infrastructure of the agro-industry sector and construction of agricultural enterprises, including poultry farms, are of particular importance. Successful examples include the Gush Toplumy complex in Baharly Etrap, Ahal Velayat as well as the Perganat state-run enterprise affiliated with the Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan and which specializes in breeding broilers and producing broiler products."

The government also announced the establishment of a poultry farm by the Turkmenmallary Association and the S. A. Niyazov farmers association in Tejen Etrap. The farm in Tejen Etrap has four buildings for breeding chickens and hens. The poultry-houses are supplied with equipment to distribute fodder, supply water and collect eggs. Air-conditioning, ventilation and heating systems maintain the clearness of the air and temperature inside the facility.

It is estimated that 45,000-50,000 chicks will be bred there every month and delivered to the farms affiliated with the Turkmenmallary Association, private enterprises and households.
