Turkey : ALSTOM bags 13m service contract for AFSIN-ELBISTAN A power plant in TURKEY.

Alstom Power has received a service and maintenance contract from Turkish electric power company Elektrik Uretim (EUAS) for the 4 x 344 MW Af?in-Elbistan A thermal power plant. The contract is worth 13m.

Alstom will be responsible to repair, overhaul and rewind the steam turbine generator of the coal-fired plant in the southern part of Turkey. The rotor and stator of the unit 3 steam turbine generator will have to be rewind by the firm as well as provide repair and major overhaul services for the steam turbines together with their spare parts.

Germany, Italy and Switzerland based production units of Alstom will be responsible to supply spare parts for this project. Service and maintenance works is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013.

Alstom Turkey country president Adil Tekin said, Alstom is the manufacturer of the original turbine generator groups installed at the Afsin-Elbistan A thermal power plant. Our know-how and experience will enable us to complete this major overhaul and reconditioning work and ensure that unit 3 resumes power generation as quickly as possible.
