Turkey, Syria to discuss 40 cooperation documents.
of the Syrian-Turkish High Level Strategic Cooperation Council, to be held
here Tuesday and Wednesday, prepared 40 documents on cooperation between the
two countries. Head of the Syrian prime minister's office Tayseer Al-Zi'bi told the Syrian
Arab News Agency (SANA) that the documents discuss cooperation in fields
including economy, trade, planning, housing, construction, interior,
transportation, culture, higher education, and health. He stressed that that documents would stress cooperation and mutual
relations, adding that the two sides prepared a number of protocols based on
previously signed agreements between the two countries. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayeb Erdogan is due here Tuesday to take part
in the meeting. Al-Watan Syrian paper, in remarks issued Tuesday, said the establishment of
the council was the most important step in the development of Syrian-Turkish
relations. The two countries agreed last September, during the visit of Syrian
Preisdent Bashar Al-Assad to Turkey, on the establishment of the council to
boost economic and political cooperation.
