Tunisia to host World Family Summit.

(TAP)- Tunisia will play host for the first time to the World Family Summit. The event is scheduled to be held on May 12-15 in observance of the International Day of Families (May 15) which will be held this year under the theme "Building the Future we Want."

In the runup to the event that will the see the participation of 80 countries, Minister of Women, Family, Children and Elderly Affairs Neziha Laabidi met Monday with President of World Family Organisation Dr. Deisi Kusztra and President of the Tunisian Organisation for Education and Family (French: OTEF) Mahmoud Mefteh.

It was agreed to set up a committee in charge of logisitical preparations. A scientific committee will also be formed ; it will bring together representatives of the ministry, the World Family Organisation and OTEF and family experts to determine the scientific content of the summit and develop Tunisia's recommendations.

Laabidi said there is need to provide all conditions of success for this international event. Picking Tunisia to host this summit, she said, reflects the successful national policy.
