Tunisia and "Linux Professional Institute" (LPI) consider boosting partnership.

Communication Technologies Minister El Hadj Gley received on, Tuesday in Tunis, Mr. Jim Lacey President of the "Linux Professional Institute" (LPI), specialised in free software and computer solutions. <p>The meeting, which was attended by Secretary of State in charge of Information Technology, Internet and Free softwares Lamia Chaffai Sghaier, focused on co-operation between Tunisia and this international institution, in terms of qualifying training in free software.

The minister reviewed, on the occasion, national efforts in building knowledge society, by launching the qualifying training programme for skills, attracting leading world firms and prompting investment and partnership.

Mr. Gley added that Tunisia offers to international operators a modern telecommunication infrastructure, a favourable business environment and qualified human resources.

For his part, Mr. Jim Lacey expressed the interest taken by his institution in enhancing its presence in Tunisia, strengthening partnership in the area of training and better publicising investment opportunities offered by the country.

Linux Professional Institute has subsidiaries in 20 industrialised countries.
