Tunis-Carthage Airport case postponed to October 24.

TUNIS (TAP) - The Tunis Court of Appeal decided, on Monday, to postpone the case called "Tunis-Carthage Airport" to October 24, at the request of the defence. This is the third consecutive time that the trial is postponed. The date of the next trial will be announced during the day. The defence called for postponing examination of the case to the post-electoral period and after "the judicial reform." At the opening of the hearing on Monday morning, Judge Hedhili Manai had given defendant Imed Trabelsi the right not to attend the trial. The accused left the courtroom under heavy escort. Some lawyers requested provisional release for their clients, particularly Lilia Nacef and Habib M'Zabi. Thirty two defendants are involved in this case including three at large, namely Leila Trabelsi, Moez Trabelsi and Sakher El Materi who are indicted in financial and customs cases. The Tunis Court of Appeal had decided, last October 3, to postpone this case for today at the request of the defence and released four defendants, namely Asma, Amira and Rym Mahjoub and Nejia Jridia (mother of Imed Trabelsi).
