Try your hand at bobbin lace craft.

CRAFT enthusiasts have the chance to try their hand at a range of new ParkMade courses held at Stockton's flagship museum.

Preston Park Museum and Grounds is hosting a range of courses for adults to take up, and no prior experience is necessary.

Bobbin lace making is a new offer for 2015, involving the intricate task of braiding thread to create delicate lace work.

The course is being held on Saturday, March 7, at a cost of PS40 with all materials and lunch included. Those who enjoy rag rug making are invited to attend the Chatty Mats sessions where participants can meet together and socialise while working on their rag rugs or enjoy a cup of tea.

The Chatty Mats sessions are at no extra cost beyond the admission fee and run on February, Friday 13 and 27 and March 13 and 27 between 10am - noon.

Booking is essential for all courses as places are limited.

Councillor Ken Dixon, Stockton Council's cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: "The spectacular Preston Park Museum and its grounds offer a first class traditional setting to learn and develop new and existing craft skills."
