Trundle signs for Preston.

FORMER Swansea City striker Lee Trundle has signed a one-year contract at League One outfit Preston North End.

Trundle, now 35, had been at Welsh Premiership club Neath until they were wound up in the High Court in May.

But after training with Preston for the last month and impressing in two friendly matches for the club, the Liverpool-born marksman has secured a deal.

Trundle made a name for himself as a prolific goalscorer and crowd entertainer with Wrexham and Swansea, before moving to Bristol City for pounds 1m in August 2007.

He then had a second spell with the Swans before moving out of the Football League to Neath.

He becomes Preston's 13th signing of a busy summer for manager Graham Westley.

Trundle told the club website: "I'm delighted to join a massive club. I am looking forward to getting the club promoted."
