Truant mums' shame.

A TRUANT mum could face a stint behind bars today, following in her sister's footsteps.

The two North East siblings could make history to become the first in Britain to be jailed for letting their children bunk off school.

Christine Davison, 40, was jailed for six weeks in July for her fifth offence of failing to send children Jason, 15, and Sarah, 16, to Roseberry Sports and Community College in Chester-le-Street, County Durham.

Today magistrates could jail her big sis Linda Davison, 41, for her fifth offence of failing to send her children to the same school.

Her case was last heard before Consett magistrates in September but Davison, of Congburn View, Pelton Fell, failed to attend for a seventh time.

Adjourning the case, chairman of the bench Wendy Clark said they were considering jailing Davison for six weeks.
