Triumph Group Inc (NYSE:TGI) on Tuesday announced the appointment of MaryLou Thomas as executive vice president of Triumph's Aerospace Structures business unit, one of the company's four market-based business units.
In her new role as EVP of Aerospace Structures, Thomas will be responsible for driving organic growth in Triumph's largest business unit by focusing on operational excellence and performance. She will also continue to forge relationships with customers to help the business achieve its potential. She will report directly to president and CEO Daniel J Crowley.
Thomas, who has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defence industry, most recently was acting EVP for Aerospace Structures of the company. Prior to that, she headed Triumph's Composites, Structures and Interiors business area with operations in the US, Mexico, Thailand and the UK.
She joined Triumph in 2003, following the acquisition of Boeing's Spokane Fabrication Operation, where she served as executive general manager. Before that, in 1990, she joined The Boeing Company where she served for 13 years in roles of increasing responsibility. Nominated to the executive leadership development program at Boeing for her performance, Thomas also led Boeing's benchmarking of the Toyota Production System (Lean).
Thomas began her career in the US Air Force before joining Lockheed Support Systems to specialise in nuclear weapon and military aircraft modifications and technology.
Triumph Group designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs and overhauls a broad portfolio of aerostructures, aircraft components, accessories, subassemblies and systems.
