Tripwire to Deliver Data and Network Integrity Solutions to Compaq Tru64 Users; New Integrity Solutions Will Add Deeper Security and Integrity to Servers.
PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2001
Tripwire, Inc. today announced that it will deliver Tripwire's award-winning data and network integrity (DNI) solution, Tripwire for Servers, for Compaq Computer Corporation's Tru64 UNIX software operating system.
Tripwire will work with Compaq to create and deliver more integrated security and integrity solutions to Tru64 UNIX customers. By working together, the two companies will provide customers with Defense in Depth(R) and help reduce total cost of ownership on Compaq Tru64 UNIX-based AlphaServer systems. Tripwire for Servers gives customers an effective solution for rapid detection, scoping, and remediation of inappropriate, malicious or accidental changes to data on their servers.
In addition, a free 30-day evaluation of Tripwire for Servers is available on Compaq's Internet Express Version 5.7 CD, which shipped beginning November 21, 2001. Internet Express is included with every Compaq Tru64 UNIX AlphaServer system. Internet Express is a collection of popular open source Internet software and administration software developed by Compaq. Customers who purchase a service contract for Internet Express will receive a new CD approximately every four months.
A free 90-day evaluation of Tripwire for Servers will also be available for Compaq Business Partners on a CD promotional demo sampler pack that will be distributed to Compaq customers via direct mail, at trade events and through other means.
Addressing customer needs for additional security and integrity options for the Tru64 UNIX operating system, Tripwire's solution enables Tru64 UNIX customers to reduce downtime and outage costs through better management of changes to their server networks.
"Because Compaq is committed to being the industry leader in providing a high level of security in our products, we chose to work with Tripwire as a premier infrastructure integrity provider," said Kent Ferson, vice president of Compaq's UNIX Systems Business Unit. "The Tru64 UNIX operating system provides unparalleled support for businesses requiring a secure and scalable 24x7 solution, and with Tripwire we are able to add a leadership change management solution to our ISV portfolio."
"Compaq's Tru64 UNIX operating system is a leading UNIX platform for enterprise, government and telecommunications customers," said W. Wyatt Starnes, founder and CEO of Tripwire. "Tripwire software enables Compaq to deliver increased security and integrity to their customers, which is critical for users where downed servers are not an option." About Tripwire for Servers
Tripwire for Servers now supports Compaq Tru64 UNIX versions 4.0F, 4.0G, 5.0A, 5.1 and 5.1A. The software assures the integrity and security of data by notifying users if, when, and how files have changed. It is the most widely deployed and trusted data integrity solution for today's most popular platforms. The software helps to ensure maximum system uptime by pinpointing the exact location and nature of change. Discovery of compromised data can happen in minutes instead of hours (even days), enabling fast and efficient remediation. Tripwire for Servers detects change, whether accidental or deliberate, malicious or innocent, and is the only way users can know if their servers have drifted from a known, good state.
