Trip back to days of tin baths and outside loos.

SPEAKER Keith Barber took members of Elland (Men's) Probus Club on a trip down memory lane.

He used a slideshow to illustrate the changing lifestyles experienced over the last 60 to 70 years.

Mr Barber tested his audience's collective memory from around the start of World War II with questions such as "do you remember tin baths?" and outside toilets which were used by many people, and "did you do gas mask drill in the classroom?".

He went on to review each decade from the time of the corner shop to the domination of the shopping scene by the big superstore chains, and from red telephone boxes to mobile phones.

He was thanked by Les Bolton.
