Trio face charges in holdup at house.
Byline: The Register-GuardEugene police have arrested three men allegedly responsible for a home invasion robbery at a west Eugene apartment.
Two men entered an apartment on Bailey Hill Road shortly after midnight last Thursday, police said. Inside were two men, a woman and her infant child.
One of the robbers had a gun and ordered the three adults to the floor while the other robber searched the apartment and stole unspecified items, police said.
The pair ran outside with the property and got a ride from a third suspect. Investigators said the robbery was the result of a "narcotics transaction gone bad."
A victim told police that one of the robbers had the letters D-A-L-E tattooed across the knuckles of one hand. Police later identified the man as Dale Paul Welch, 22, of Springfield.
He was arrested Saturday afternoon at a relative's Springfield home.
On Monday morning, officers arrested Jeremy Adam Leighton, 22, of Springfield as he drove near the intersection of Highway 99 North and Dove Street. Several hours later, officers arrested Anthony Paul Arnold, 32, of Springfield on a tip from that city's officers.
All three men were being held Tuesday in Lane County Jail on three counts each of first-degree robbery. In the course of the investigation, officers recovered two stolen handguns, as well as the handgun believed used in the robbery, police said.
