Trio cash in on 150-mile cycling adventure.

THREE Hepworth men turned to pedal power to raise cash for charity.

Pictured above are James Blackburn, 32, Nigel Dearnley, 46 and Steve Jackson, 46 - collectively the Hepworth Blazing Saddles - who tackled the Lake District on a 150-mile journey from Whitehaven to Tynemouth.

The target was to raise pounds 2,000 for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), which is sponsored by Steve's company.

Mr Jackson said: It was a good experience and a challenging route with some difficult weather thrown in on the second day. There''s a hill outside Stanhope which is particularly etched on my memory - and my back-side. It was a good three days and I think we all enjoyed it.

We've raised pounds 2,600 so far but we hope to have another few thousand coming in. It's a good amount of money and I'm glad it goes to helping the kids.

"David Wilson Homes does quite a bit of work with CAFT, it's our nominated charity and we help them throughout the year. The coast-to-coast bike ride was another way of helping the charity".
