The Swedish telecomms company Trio AB said today (27 January) that it had signed a contract with the Swedish municipality of Landskrona to connect 1,000 mobile phones to its switchboard.

Trio said that the municipality was upgrading its current call and message handling system with Trio PresentOffice 3.1 Mobile Edition system.

Trio said that the telephonists working for the municipality would be able to handle mobile phones in the same way as they do fixed telephones, and employees would also have access to all vital switchboard functions via their mobile phones.

The order was valued at SEK1m.

One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
