Trintech introduces new e-payment system.
INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTDTrintech Group Plc has launched what it claims to be the industry's first secure electronic payment system for mobile commerce.
Called PayWare mAccess, the new system is designed to work as a stand-alone product at a card issuer, wireless network operator, content converter or portal/application service provider, linking to a card issuer's existing consumer Internet payment application such as Trintech's PayWare eIssuer.
Consumers can then use a variety of access channels, including cell phones and personal digital assistants, to pay for goods and services with PIN-protected security and the convenience of filling a 'one-touch' form. The payment system is also capable of processing several payment card types - credit, debit and purchasing - and accepts card payments in multiple currencies.
In other news Trintech, Visa International and Phone.com have teamed up to jointly develop and deploy secure server-based e-payment systems for the next generation of mobile commerce. As part of the cooperation Phone.com and Trintech plan to provide interoperability between Phone.com's UP.LinkServer and Trintech's new PayWare mAccess mobile e-payment server to offer customers a secure 'one click' system for purchasing via mobile devices.
