Tricky weather; MAILBAG MAILBAG: MAILBAG MAILBAG.

IN Katie Grant's It's Our World (Examiner, February 1) the Met Office is given space for a little flag waving - increased warming creates extreme weather.

Unfortunately, our Met Office is besotted by the controversial idea that increased man-made CO emissions are the chief source of the increased warming.

This is the same Met Office which, in October, apparently failed to predict the extreme cold of November and December despite owning the most powerful computer in Britain. And this is the same Met Office which is currently under investigation by Drs Peiser and Whitehouse of the Global Warming Policy Foundation. It appears someone has been adjusting temperature figures for the period 2001/2010, just before the story was released to the press.

Doesn't such organisational skullduggery make your blood run cold? GARFI Mirfield
