Tributes to Denise.

THE family of the first British female soldier to die in Iraq yesterday paid tribute to the "fun-loving" girl who dreamt of being in the army in her school days.

Mystery surrounds the death of Staff Sergeant Denise Rose, 34, who was found shot at a military camp in Basra on Sunday. The Ministry of Defence has ordered a probe.

The blonde Redcap, from Liverpool, worked in the Royal Military Police's special investigations branch.

She volunteered to go to Iraq in September to train the police force.

Sgt Rose's brother, Sean Barcas said: "The family is very close and we are devastated."
