RealPage, Inc., of Dallas, Tx., recently announced that For Rent magazine will link its Internet listing service to RealPage's new web-based property management system, OneSite. The objective of both companies is to generate qualified leads to fill vacant apartment homes while placing the apartment community in the best position to generate ancillary revenue.

Maytag Corporation of Newton, Ia., announced the initiation of an e-commerce pilot program with the TBM Consulting Group to provide made-to-order appliances within one week. The partnership will link lean manufacturing practices currently underway at Maytag to an e-supply chain strategy developed in conjunction with TBM. Maytag and TBM have also begun a pilot project focused on major appliances supplied by Maytag to the recreational vehicle industry.

Tut Systems, Inc., of Pleasant Hills, Mich., and ElectricStreets.com, announced at the recent Telecom and Technology Show in Charleston, S.C., a joint alliance to begin offering complete solutions for high-speed Internet connectivity and portal services for apartment residents.

The American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) and the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) have broadened an industry-wide effort to help providers disclose key information about their fees and services up front. The result is the Assisted Living Consumer Information Statement, which helps standardize the type of information consumers are given before they move in and alert them as to what to look for in residency agreements and contracts. The form is available at www.asha.nmhc.org and www.alfa.org.

Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing Association (RMMHA), Inc., of Denver, Colo., a nonprofit housing organization that provides housing for more than 1,000 low and moderate-income households in Colorado, recently launched an affiliate organization called Mutual Management, Inc. RMMHA contracts its services to manage properties it does not own, thus helping to preserve affordable housing. RMMHA has been able to increase resident involvement, reduce crime and vandalism and rehabilitate properties to provide safe, attractive and thriving communities for its residents.
