Tremont Festival Ale released in Boston.
Tremont Festival Ale was originally brewed as a special beer for the Tremont Brewery Music Fest 2000, held on June 24th. The festival was part of the brewery's "Relentless Support of Local Musci Concert Series" and featured 13 musical acts.
"Thanks to the beer's tremendous success at the Festival, as well as repeated demands for more from those who attended, we have decided to release Festival Ale as a fall seasonal," said brewery spokesperson Lindsay Ransick. "It's a big-bodied, malty beer, with a spicy hop character. The style is based on an Extra Special Bitter, but is hoppier, resulting in a super smooth, spicy finish."
The beer is made to a specific gravity of 1.058, with alcohol content of 5.8% by volume. It is brewed with pale and dark crystal malts, and hopped with Fuggles, Target, Chinook and Horizon. It will be sold in Massachusetts through October.
