Trek against meningitis; views.

WE are asking people to put on their walking boots and reach peaks to take in some spectacular Welsh countryside - all to stamp out dreaded meningitis.

Meningitis UK is hosting its first Big Trek Across Wales, a wonderful 33-mile stroll through the picturesque Cambrian Mountains over two days, August 16-18.

This trek is a fantastic form of exercise and chance to raise money to fund pioneering research to find vaccine and other preventative measures to eradicate meningitis forever.

Tragically, meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia continue to affect thousands of people in the UK every year and kill more children under five than any other infectious disease.
