Gigmania, an online live music content provider, will occupy 11,431 sf on the eighth floor of a converted loft building, starting July 1. On the same date, Element Holdings, an online marketing research firm, will occupy 22,000 sf on the ninth floor of the same building, which is located on the Brooklyn waterfront.
These companies are joining other high-tech tenants, such as ClickView, Bliss Spa and Modern Humorist, all of which recently have signed long-term leases in DUMBO, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Approximately 200,000 sf of space in DUMBO has been leased recently to high-tech firms that had been attracted to the area's vibrant, live/work environment. The Downtown Brooklyn Council is predicting that more than one million sf will be eventually leased to high-tech firms.
