CENTENARIAN Violet Cleaver received a special birthday delegation from Warwick District Council on Friday.

Violet, currently staying with her daughter in Rugby Road, Cubbington, celebrated her 100th birthday with her family.

Then, to mark the fact she has been a tenant of Warwick District Council for more than 40 years, head of housing Derrick Dyas and chairman of the housing committee, Peter Byrd, called in to wish her many happy returns.

Mrs Cleaver has recently undergone a hip operation and is convalescing.
